State Of Rest ex Pearly Empress 2024 B.C.

This strong son of STATE OF REST reminded me a lot of his half brother INDALO, who has been a fun horse for our Varian Racing syndicate this year. He’s won four times from just 10 runs and was so unlucky not to go the way of the judge in the Cambridgeshire last month.

I’ve had great success with the sire line of this colt and I’m excited to be training a son of STATE OF REST, as he was such a tough and durable horse. He danced every dance and was the only horse in history to win three consecutive Group 1 races on three different continents.

Much like State of Rest, the female side of this colts family is choc full of tough consistent horses. His dam has a perfect record of five winners from five runners and her second foal (LE SICILIEN) was only beaten two lengths in the Prix Noailles (G3) as a three year old. The back pedigree of this colt is full of black-type headed by his second dam, Pearly Shells, who won five races including the Prix Vermeille (G1).

This colt’s dam is a daughter of Holy Roman Emperor, who is broodmare sire of 7 Group 1 winners to date, headed by PORTA FORTUNA. Furthermore, he was consigned by Kildaragh Stud who have sold Group 1 winners SEA SILK ROAD and NATIVE TRAIL at Tattersalls as yearlings within the past five years.

At 45,000 gns he is an absolute steal and I’m very excited to be training him.
