Palace Pier ex Rustic Charm 2025 B.C.
This colt is by Palace Pier and is out of the Dubawi mare, Rustic Charm. He is a lovely stamp of a horse
with a very athletic walk and was bred at Colin Murfitt’s Plantile Stud, the same breeding operation
responsible for 2,000 Guineas and St James’ Palace winner Galileo Gold and the two-year-old Royal Ascot winner Richard Pankhurst.
Palace Pier, the five-time Group 1-winning champion miler by Kingman, has made a terrific start to his
stallion career at Dalham Hall Stud, siring 11 stakes horses from his first crop and he now leads all second-crop sires by black-type horses to runners. Tellingly, his two best colts in Europe so far are both out of Dubawi mares: A Bit of Spirit, who won the Group 3 Solario Stakes, and Morris Dancer, who won the Listed Stonehenge Stakes and was beaten only a short head by a subsequent Group 1 winner in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes.
The dam’s side of the pedigree is also very current and Rustic Charm has produced two winners from two runners. Galileo Charm has won three races this year, and the two-year-old Bated Benevolence has already won twice for Marco Botti and contested both the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes. Rustic Charm is an own sister to the Listed-placed six-time winner One Nation and is the granddaughter of Hibaayeb, winner of the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile and the Group 1 Yellow Ribbon Stakes.
He is an early foal who is eligible for the £25,000 Tattersalls Book 1 Bonus and looks an absolute steal at 62,000gns.
