Zegalo doubled his winning tally on Tuesday with a commanding success at Sandown Park.

He was smartly away from stall 3 and secured a lovely position just in behind the leaders on the running rail. Andrea wanted to make good use of him since he was dropping back to a mile following two placed efforts over 1m4f and 1m2f this season and, although he got to work on Zegalo earlier than some, his mount found plenty for pressure and was going better the further he went.

Zegalo is the first foal out of the unraced Galileo half-sister to Group 1 winner Society Rock and was bred by his owner Mr Hussain Lootah. He was a winner at two over the extended mile at Nottingham and he looked to appreciate the stiff mile at Sandown. He has not finished outside the first three in six starts and given his size and scope he is entitled to keep improving as the season progresses.
