The son of Authorized was sent off the odds-on favourite following his good third at Windsor two weeks ago and he duly obliged under Neil Callan in taking style.

He broke slowly from the stalls but was soon settled on the heels of the leaders which were setting a steady early gallop.

Neil was still stuck in a pocket with two furlongs to run but when the gap came Zanotti picked up impressively to scoot clear and win by two lengths.

Roger said: "The race was not the strongest on paper but he has done it nicely and that would have done his confidence no harm."
