Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum’s homebred YOUNGEST made a smart winning debut at Leicester today, quickening away nicely in the hands of David Egan to land the 7f Novice contest by just under a length.
The Dubawi juvenile is the first foal out of Sheikh Mohammed Obaid’s G1 winning SHEIKHA REIKA, herself a full sister to high-class juvenile and G1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner LUMIERE. A runner-up on all three starts as a juvenile, it wasn’t until her three-year-old career that SHEIKHA REIKA shone, culminating in G1 glory on her final racecourse appearance in the 2018 G1 E.P.Taylor Stakes at Woodbine.
Her daughter YOUNGEST certainly hit the right notes on debut today - we look forward to seeing what the future holds for this well-bred filly.
Congratulations to Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum.
