YA HAAFHD and QAZAQ break their maidens in style, landing a cross-card double at Southwell and Chelmsford!
YA HAAFHD shaped with promise on debut at Newmarket back in June, and a slight step up in trip to 1m3f and a switch to the AW proved the ticket for a winning performance on her second racecourse appearance today at Southwell. The three-year-old daughter of Sea The Stars rallied well to chase down race leader Little Peter in the closing stages, running on gamely for a 1¼L success.

QAZAQ made the perfect start to his racing career, with an eye catching debut over 7f at Chelmsford. The juvenile son of Kingman was a 300,000gns purchase from Newsells Park in Tattersalls Book 1, and he's certainly bred to be smart being a daughter of Nell Gwyn winner Qabala, who also finished third in the 1,000 Guineas. QAZAQ duly delivered on that promise this evening, with a striking performance - quickening away smartly for a 2¼L victory under Jack Mitchell.
