A first run on the all weather is fruitful for the son of Wootton Bassett who takes his record to two from three.

Wootz opened his account at Ffos Las on debut where he returned an impressive six-and-a-half-length winner in early August. He finished second a fortnight ago on his second start and was pipped in a battle approaching the line. 

The three-year-old colt is back in the winner's enclosure this afternoon after racing over the extended mile for the first time. He was ridden prominently by jockey Ray Dawson and laid down his challenge turning for home. Quickening all the way to the line he was able to draw clear and win by just under a length.
