The highly anticipated debut of Delta's Royalty (Galileo x Royal Delta) proved to be a winning one in an 8f fillies' novice at Kempton last night.

Benjamin Leon's filly has been the subject of plenty of attention ever since her arrival at Carlburg with her being the only offspring of the champion US race mare Royal Delta. Sent off the clear favourite in a field of 14, her rider Jack Mitchell was fairly animated early on as she showed distinct signs of greeness, but she picked up well once the runners reached the cut off in the straight and won a little cosily despite veering sharply left having hit the front.

The performance showcased the clear ability Delta's Royalty had been showing in her work at home, and the fact she was able to win despite being extremely green bodes well for when she matures, especially with her outstanding dam proving to be at her best as an older horse.

Four other juveniles also broke their maidens during what's been a productive fortnight for the team. King Ragnar (Hot Streak x Park Law) got the ball rolling in a 6f novice at Newcastle, followed a day later by a highly impressive 4.5L success for Khaloosy (Dubawi x Elshaadin) at Wolverhampton over the extended mile in a race where the Shadwell-owned colt barely came off the bridle. Montather (Dubawi x Lanansaak) provided Shadwell with another winner over a mile at Chelmsford, and although not as obviously eye-catching as Khaloosy it was a particularly cosy 3/4L back to the second. The week was rounded off by Waliyak dominating a fillies' maiden at Wolverhampton from start to finish, and winning in a manner she'd threatened to do on her previous starts.
