The dust barely had a chance to settle before another Group success on French soil. Fresh off the back of Teona’s win in the G1 Prix Vermeille, WALIYAK does the business at Chantilly in G3 company.

Flying form continues at Varian Stable with another Group victory to add to the tally, this time the 4YO filly WALIYAK stepped up to the mark putting in a gutsy performance to land the spoils in the Gr.3 Prix Bertrand De Tarragon. Patience paid off at the right moment after the last couple of appearances on the track bringing in close runner-up spots, this was firmly put to bed today with a storming performance in Chantilly. Cristian Dermuro gave Waliyak a great ride, breaking well from stall one and tracking the leaders in the early stages. Dermuro barely had to ask and Waliyak responded cruising easily to take up the running two furlongs out. No one could match the filly for speed in the closing stages and she ran on strongly hitting the line with plenty in hand, the closest contender was Sweet Lady, one length behind in second.

Many congratulations to Fawzi Nass and connections. The filly becomes Le Havre’s 19th Group winner. It has been a simply spectacular few days with the yard securing victories at Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 level within the week. Congratulations to all our owners and the team at home for all their efforts, we hope it continues to produce these results on the track throughout the rest of the season.
