TIMELESS SOUL puts in a gritty performance to land the Leconfield Maiden Fillies’ Stakes.

Half-sister to one of Saturday’s winners Raadobarg, the Night Of Thunder filly Timeless Soul continued the yards winning streak at Beverley this afternoon. Having shaped with considerable promise when third on good to firm ground at Doncaster on her debut 17 days earlier, Timeless Soul justified favouritism coping well under the more testing conditions of softer ground.

Partnered with the in-form David Egan the pair settled in midfield, racing in company with the Hugo Palmer trained Dancing To Win during the early strides. Egan pressed after the 3F marker and began to move through the field. Coming into the closing stages he made a crucial, and debatably winning move, to gain a position along the rail. Ridden hard inside the final furlong and coming under pressure from Dancing To Win, Timeless Soul dug in and fought hard, hitting the line strongly to defy Dancing To Win by 2 1/4L in second. The first two placed far outmatched the rest of the field, who were another 19 ¼ L behind Timeless Soul.

Congratulations to winning owner Mr Majed Almarzooqi and connections. Particular note to David Egan for putting in a stylish performance, giving the filly every chance to get across the line first. Timeless Soul takes Roger’s record at the track to 6-12 in the last five years. We look forward to watching this filly progress as she has all the makings of a decent handicapper.
