The Sheikh Ahmed-owned Haalick lines up in the opening race on the card, the Group 3 Jersey Stakes.

A Listed winner at Lingfield in March, Haalick has been running consistently well and has come out of his recent fourth at Epsom well.

Roger said: “Haalick is a talented colt. The rain won’t inconvenience him and he seems in good form. He deserves his place in the line-up and should run well.”

Spangled will carry the famous Cheveley Park Stud colours in the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes.

The daughter of Starspangledbanner won her recent reappearance in a 7f conditions event in style and this has been her target since.

Roger added: “Spangled is a filly we have always held in high regard and she has done very well from three to four. I was impressed with her win at Leicester and she has trained nicely since. It is a big step up in grade but she is an improving filly and I think she will run well.”

The Salem Rashid-owned Aljuljalah finished second behind Nemoralia on her seasonal bow at York. She takes another foray into Listed company in the Sandringham handicap, which closes proceedings on Wednesday.

“Aljuljalah has been working nicely at home and we feel she should be very competitive in this race off a mark of 99. She made a pleasing return at York and has come on for that. We would be slightly concerned by the soft ground but she goes there in good form.”
