Moraaheq gets off the mark at the third time of asking under Jack Mitchell in the Div I of the Unibet Extra Place Offers Every Day Maiden Stakes at Kempton.

Time off looks to have agreed with Moraaheq, who showed a marked improvement from his previous two runs at the end of last year. The Speightstown colt lived up to the expectation of being evens favourite and made all the running over the 7 furlong all-weather course, setting a comfortable pace leading the field of ten. He came under pressure at 2f, but it was not until 1f out, when challenged on the inside by the James Ferguson trained Fiordland, that his lead was threatened. However, Jack Mitchell rode a professional race and kept Moraaheq on, showing an impressieve turn of foot and accelerating home to claim the win by two lengths.

It continues to be an exciting start of 2021 for Varian Stable and we send many congratulations to winning connections of Moraaheq as he brings our winning tally up to nine for the year.
