The move up in trip at Wolverhampton today proved favourable for the well-bred filly FLORA FINCH. Putting the race to bed comfortably to get off the mark at the third attempt.

Runner-up by a neck last time out at Chelmsford, the step up in trip from seven furlongs to 1m ¼F  suited Cheveley Park Stud filly who deservedly shed her maiden tag this afternoon in the Coral Proud To Support British Racing EBF Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes at Wolverhampton. Partnered under David Egan they chased the leaders in a prominent position in the early stages. Leave It With Me taking up the running, Egan settled the Lawman filly in behind for the majority of the course and distance. Egan kicked for home off the final turn and Flora Finch quickened away in an impressive fashion drawing two to three lengths clear up the home straight. Cruising to the line to comfortably to land the prize 3 ¼ lengths ahead of the Sir Mark Prescott trained Themoonsaballoon in second.

Congratulations to Cheveley Park Stud, Flora Finch has shown improvement on every run and it was fantastic to see her hit the line in front today. The Lawman filly pedigree suits a longer trip and having justified favouritism comfortably at this distance, she looks a nice middle distance prospect for next year.
