Oak Grove Studs’ STRAWBERRI landed the feature race of the day The Coconut Cup Fillies’ Handicap and in doing so notched up her career wins to two.

Success tasted sweet for STRAWBERRI at Beverley today, following on from her win at Haydock with another impressive performance on similar ground. The Gleneagles filly stamped her mark sweeping past her rivals in her handicap debut. Breaking from stall two under Cameron Noble, who rode a patient race and settled the chestnut at the rear of the field tracking the leaders in the early stages. Turning into the home straight Noble made his move, switching right and pressing for more, Strawberri responded with a striking turn of foot. Powering through, looking more than able on the heavy ground and finishing strongly to land the spoils. Majestic Tejaan ran well in defeat 2 ½L behind in second.

Congratulations to John Deer and Oak Grove Stud, this well bred filly proved she is a good type to handle the conditions in such style and has shown plenty of improvement in her last two outings. We look forward to seeing what more this daughter of Gleneagles has to offer this season.
