John Deer’s homebred STRAWBERRI proved too good for her rivals at Goodwood, landing the 1m6f Fillies' Handicap in the hands of Andrea Atzeni.

The four-year-old filly faced a step up in trip today and appeared to relish the challenge. She raced keenly to take the lead over 8f out and refusing to let the field past thereafter, staying on well for a comfortable victory over VIOLA and WICKYWICKYWHEELS, to whom she was a close third last time out at Hamilton (1m4f, soft). This is STRAWBERRI’s fourth victory, with the latest coming over 1m4f on the Kempton AW at the start of August.

Congratulations to owner/breeder John Deer.

Smart juvenile prospect REVENITE followed up his Ascot success under a penalty to score on the Kempton AW under jockey Ray Dawson. Justifying race favouritism, the HARRY ANGEL colt travelled comfortable throughout on the rail, cruising up from the cutaway to take the lead 1f out, before hitting top gear to punch away for a 3L win.
