An impressive first time out for JULIA AUGUSTA, picking up strongly and cruising to the line a convincing winner in the Sunbury Park Restricted Novice Stakes at Kempton.

Quoted as ‘the perfect start’ it certainly was a pleasing debut for the Ulysses filly JULIA AUGUSTA, a smart performance as she stayed on strongly under Jack Mitchell in the Cheveley Park Stud second string colours. Held up in midfield in the initial stages, Mitchell made headway along the inside. The 2YO filly picking up impressively in the closing stages, powerfully quickening clear and hitting the line strongly a comfortable two and half lengths clear of Sharp Distinction in second with the favourite Homeric well beaten back in seventh place.

Congratulations to winning connections Cheveley Park Stud. Their daughter of Ulysses put in a notable debut performance today and looks a useful prospect going into the New Year.
