The son of Monsun, who carries the colours of Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum, made almost every yard of the running under Neil Callan to win by three lengths.

Shubaat, now five, has raced just five times in his career but has won twice and been third on the remaining three occasions.

Roger said: “He is a big horse but he’s very straightforward and did well to act around Musselburgh and hold his position on the inside the whole way.

“He stayed the mile and six furlongs well and I think he will get two miles and beyond.”
