Going one better than last time out at Haydock, SHAMPION put in a dominant display to get off the mark at the third time of asking in the Bet Close And Personal With Fitzdares Fillies' Novice Stakes at Windsor this evening.

SHAMPION gets the week off to a winning start with an impressive performance this evening under the inform Andrea Atzeni. Experience from the Shamardal filly’s seasonal debut combined with a move up in trip to one mile two furlongs from one-mile last time out at Haydock, proved a winning formula this afternoon. The three-year-old moved powerfully away up the home straight to break her maiden at the third time of asking. Hitting the line with plenty in hand, four lengths ahead of her nearest rival, runner up ORIOLE from the Ralph Beckett yard.

Congratulations to winning owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum. The daughter of Shamardal looks a smart prospect and we look forward to watching her progress to handicap company.
