The son of Galileo was given a good ride by Andrea Atzeni, who was content to take a lead when the Frankie Dettori-ridden Souviens Toi went on.

Cameron Highland raced enthusiastically and was well positioned to strike when they turned for home.

Andrea made his run towards the near side and Cameron Highland picked up strongly to strike the lead with over two furlongs to go.

The odds on favourite Shirocco Star went in pursuit but victory was not in doubt as Cameron Highland powered to a three-length success.

Roger said: “He's not complicated and I am really pleased with how the horse quickened and saw it out to the line.

“He has a good attitude, despite the hood and the cheekpieces.

“He didn't quite fire on his first two starts this season, but there was nothing wrong with his win at Epsom last time and tonight he has looked quite good again.

“Hopefully he's climbing back up the ladder and can win us a nice race towards the end of the year.”
