The Yvonne Jacques-owned Compel stepped up on her two previous efforts to win the 5f maiden at Beverley in decisive fashion under Jack Mitchell.

She was always in the perfect position, tracking the leaders before hitting the front at the furlong marker. From that point in victory never looked in doubt and she went on to win by a length and a quarter.

Later in the evening, Go Sakhee returned to winning ways with an emphatic success in the 1m2f handicap at Nottingham.

The son of Sakhee's Secret made every yard of the running under Freddie Tylicki and scooted clear in the closing stages to win by seven lengths.

Roger said: "We have had five winners in two days - the horses are in great form so well done to all the team at home.

"Compel has improved with every run and Jack has given her a lovely ride. Hopefully she will be competitive in nurseries now.

"Go Sakhee didn't face the blinkers at Ripon last time out but other than that he has been a model of consistency. He couldn't have done it any easier."
