Saddadd tastes Group 1 success for the first time when running out a battling winner of the 156th Grosser Preis von Baden.

The son of Pinatubo headed to Germany in search of Group 1 riches following high class efforts in the Tattersalls Gold Cup and Coral Eclispe Stakes, and having moved to the front inside the final furlong, he showed a willing attitude late on to fend off the persistent challenge of Parachutiste by half a length, providing longstanding rider Jack Mitchell with his first top-level success in the saddle.

It was a second victory of the season for the high-class four-year-old, adding to his prior success in the Group 3 Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown on his reappearance.
