Two winners in two days for Ray Dawson and Opulence Thoroughbreds, and Flaxman Stables’ patience is rewarded as three-year-old SOLAR ORBITER takes off on debut!

Fresh from the Windsor winners enclosure with LIR SPECIALE yesterday evening, Ray Dawson and Opulence Thoroughbreds joined forces to strike again - this time in the opener at Ascot with exciting juvenile REVENITE.

The son of first-season sire Harry Angel had been gelded since his Goodwood debut, and made no mistake this time out. Tracking the leaders throughout, Ray found his gap 2f out and REVENITE took to the challenge, quickening away and battling on gamely in the closing stages to win by a head.

Congratulations to Opulence Thoroughbreds, he looks to be an exciting colt and we look forward to seeing him progress.

It was patience rewarded for the Niarchos family’s Flaxman Stables, who’s homebred SOLAR ORBITER made a belated but stylish debut as a three-year-old today.

Inexperience proved no hangup for the Showcasing colt, who despite being bumped at the start settled well in midfield before taking off down the outer 2f from home, surging past his more experienced rivals and pulling away for an impressive 3¾l success in the hands of Jack Mitchell.

Congratulations to connections - we look forward to seeing what the rest of the season holds for him.
