RAHIEBB confirmed his bright future with a career-best performance to finish second in the St Leger, coming agonisingly close to providing Roger with a third victory in Britain’s oldest Classic, following the successes of Kingston Hill and Eldar Eldarov.
Roger reflected afterwards: “I’m proud and delighted with the horse but gutted to be honest. With a furlong to run I thought he’d get there, but congratulations to the winner — he’s a very good horse. I’m proud of Rahiebb and I think he’s got a big future.”
RAHIEBB will now enjoy a winter break, with a tilt at the Ascot Gold Cup next summer firmly on the agenda for connections.
Congratulations to owner Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum, regular rider Tony Proctor and groom Ravi Ramadass.
