The son of Dalakhani, who carries the colours of Normandie Stud, had run some good races in defeat since joining the stable this summer and thoroughly deserved this breakthrough success.

He was given an excellent ride by Andrea Atzeni, who always had his mount to the fore, tracking the leader Stopped Out.

Andrea kicked on entering the straight ensuring that he secured the favoured stand's side rail. The leader didn't go down without a fight but Perfect Heart kept battling and was well on top at the line, winning by nearly two lengths.

Roger said: "He deserved to get his head in front and has shown a great attitude. He stays well and loves the soft ground."

Perfect Heart.
