The daughter of Dansili came to Roger at the end of last season having run with credit for Mahmood Al Zarooni. She is out of Vine Street, a dual winner for the yard, who herself is a full sister to Silkwood, who won the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot for Kremlin in 2007.

Her illustrious pedigree made it all the more important that she won a race and she did that in impressive fashion.

Jockey Andrea Atzeni was keen to adopt a handy position and Naalatt travelled strongly on the heels of the leaders, aided by a hood.

She edged to the front rounding the bend and kicked clear to win by eight lengths.

Roger said: "She is beautifully bred so it was important that she got her head in front. She is very genuine and acted well on the surface."
