Mystical Air, a homebred filly by Kingman, took a big step forward from her first start three weeks ago to win in very good style on her second career start.

Mystical Air is the fourth foal out of the Shamardal mare Dark Promise who is a half-sister to the Oaks winner Love Divine. She is a three-quarter sister to the four time winner Dark Magic (Invincible Spirit) and a half-sister to the dual winner Gobi Sunset.

Her first start was over 7f at Newcastle where she raced with little cover on the wing and faded in the closing stages. She looked much more comfortable over the extra furlong today; Jack Mitchell settled her just in behind the leader who she then joined on the turn for home before picking up in very eye-catching style in the straight. She quickly put a number of lengths between herself and her closest pursuer Secret Shadow to win with authority and she looks a lovely prospect for next season.
