It was a Varian Stable 1-2 in the Listed Gillies Fillies' Stakes at Newcastle with SOUND ANGELA following MUKADDAMAH home, and LION'S HOUSE makes it a double on the card - making the perfect start to his racing career!
A switch to the all-weather proved the ticket for a taking performance from MUKADDAMAH. The four-year-old daughter of New Approach didn't take to the soft ground last time out at Newmarket, but has run some nice races this season including second in two Listed contests. But she made no mistake in today's 1m2f Gillies Fillies' Stakes at Newcastle, powering away in the final furlong to record an emphatic 3¾ victory under Jim Crowley, with the Varian Stable trained SOUND ANGELA following them home to take the runner-up position.

Later on the same card, LION'S HOUSE made the perfect start to his racing career with a winning debut over 6f. The son of Oasis Dream ran on readily within the final furlong, to land a taking victory in the hands of David Egan.
