Having set a decent standard in his 2YO career MOVIN TIME put in a smart performance on his seasonal debut in the Betfair British EBF Maiden Stakes at Newmarket this evening.

The well fancied son of Fastnet Rock has trained well over the winter and impressed today as he embarked on his 3YO campaign. MOVIN TIME went one better than his 2YO record, to land the spoils and in doing so got off the mark at the third time of asking. Breaking well from stall one, he was away keenly in the early strides under Jack Mitchell, who settled the colt in third alongside Magical Land, tracking the pace setter Franko Grasso from the Peter Chapple-Hyam yard. Travelling well for the majority of the course and distance, Mitchell needed to only lightly press Movin Time in the closing stages. The 3YO easily quickened away once shaken up to take the advantage, bolting up the home straight to put the race to bed by an impressive 4L to the Charlie Appleby trained Kemari next across the line in second.

Congratulations to winning owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum and connections. A likeable type and a big strong individual, Movin Time is one to watch as he steps up in class. From what we have seen so far he is certainly worth his place in Pattern company.
