The son of Acclamation was a winner at Wolverhampton earlier in the season and is clearly an improved performer back on an artificial surface.

The race worked out perfectly for Paul Hanagan, who always had Majdool in an ideal position on the heels of the leaders.

Majdool responded well to pressure up the straight and ran on strongly to wear down Vibrant Chords deep inside the final furlong, winning by half a length.

Roger said: "Majdool found the trip too short at Doncaster last time out and was able to get into a better rhythm tonight. I felt that was a useful race for the grade so it was pleasing to see him win. A mile should be within him compass."
