Craig Bennett's filly was following hot on the heels of Kingston Hill, who provided Roger and jockey Andrea Atzeni with their first domestic Classic triumph in the St Leger at Doncaster yesterday.

Cursory Glance had the best form going into the race having taken the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot and finished second to Tiggy Wiggy in the Lowther Stakes at York.

Her run that day suggested the step up to seven furlongs would hold no fears and she stayed on gamely to beat Lucida by a neck.

Andrea had settled Cursory Glance in the midfield. She raced a little lazily but quickened into the lead with over a furlong to run.

She looked to have the race in the bag before idling inside the closing stages. The runner-up was closing but Cursory Glance was always in command.

Roger said: "This is a filly we have always thought a lot of. Her homework has been top class all year and her form on the track has backed that up.

"It's great to win a Group 1 with her. She has a lot of class and a mile should be well within her compass next season."

To cap of what has already been a weekend to remember, Natural Charm gained her second win on the bounce when taking a mile nursery at Bath under Louis Steward.
