A fantastic Friday for the yard as Amo Racing’s OLIVIA MARALDA swoops to Listed victory on day one of the Epsom Derby Festival, and EMBESTO and AIMERIC team up at Doncaster to make it a treble on the day.

Last seen with a respectable performance in the 1,000 Guineas on her stable debut, Amo Racing’s OLIVIA MARALDA looked a class apart from her rivals today, back on sounder ground and in Listed company in the 7f Surrey Stakes at Epsom Racecourse. The three-year-old Kodiac filly swooped down the outer 2f from home, and strode away under Kevin Stott to finish nearly 3L clear of colts Holguin and Streets Of Gold.

OLIVIA MARALDA was a 460,000gns breeze-up buy, bought by Amo at the Craven Breeze Up Sale from breeder/consigners Tally-Ho Stud.

Congratulations to Amo Racing and connections.

From an exciting filly to an exciting colt, as the three-year-old EMBESTO backed up the promise he showed on debut to make it a quick cross-card double, winning the 1m Novice Stakes at Doncaster, with stablemate SOOWAIH back in 5th. The Roaring Lion colt caused a stir with an impressive winning debut at Yarmouth last month, and we were delighted to see him run another big race here today, quickening well to catch the leading quartet and finishing strongly under a nice ride from David Egan.

Congratulations to Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum.

Shortly after, Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum’s AIMERIC took his turn in the Doncaster winners enclosure, sealing a treble on the day for the yard. Making his seasonal reappearance, the four-year-old gelding travelled well off the pace and was last to pick up the bridle under Jack Mitchell. Negotiating a few traffic issues, he picked up well when it mattered and ran out a sure winner of the evening’s 1m4f contest.

Congratulations to Sheikh Mohammed Obaid, we look forward to seeing what the rest of the season holds for AIMERIC.
