Dropping back in trip to one mile today at Thirsk on good to firm proved a winning recipe for KING TRITON, who stamped his authority in no uncertain terms, making virtually all the running, to land the spoils in the Peter Fairhurst Memorial EBF Novice Stakes.

Bred to be smart with an impressive page, it was good to see KING TRITON duly get off the mark today at the third time of asking. Partnered with Jack Mitchell they travelled in from the wide outside to take up the running in the early stages. Market favourite Motawaajed, proved the only threat stalking King Triton up the home straight in a thrilling duel. King Triton prevailed crossing the line firmly on top, denying Motawaajed by ¾ of a length. The winning pair were a clear seven lengths ahead of the rest of the field, a closely run third place with only a short head between Blue Honey (third) and Riches and Rubies (fourth).

Congratulations to Sheikh Mohammed Obaid, the Invincible Spirit colt put in a game performance to deservedly get off the mark this afternoon. The colt looks a progressive type and we hope he continues on this upward trajectory throughout the rest of the season.
