The Sheikh Mohammed Obaid-owned King Bolete has won both his starts since joining us and will bid for a hat-trick in the £100,000 Summer Handicap over 1m6f.

A son of Cape Cross, King Bolete brings strong form into the race having beaten subsequent Old Newton Cup winner Tawdeea on his last start at Haydock.

Roger said: “King Bolete is a progressive four-year-old who has won both his starts this season. He shapes as though 1m6f should suit and we hope he can be competitive in what looks a strong race.”

Maljaa (Sheikh Hamdan) lines up later on the card in the 5f handicap. The son of Paco Boy ran well on his latest start at Ascot where he was beaten less than a length in seventh.

Roger said: “Maljaa has to give weight all round which is never easy but he seems in good form at home and if things fall his way, he should run well.”
