A homebred from Craig Bennett’s Merry Fox Stud, the juvenile daughter of Distorted Humor boasts a superb pedigree being out of a sister to Group 1 winner Listen, who triumphed in the Fillies’ Mile, and Sequoyah, dam of champion miler Henrythenavigator.

Having finished a respectable fourth on debut at Newmarket, Pichola Dance stepped forward from that effort here, sitting prominently under Andrea Atzeni before quickening to lead passing the two-furlong marker.

Challengers began to emerge from the pack, with Dubai Dunes and Ghadaayer looking serious threats, but Pichola Dance showed a fine attitude inside the last, sticking her neck out to hold on by three-quarters of a length.

Roger said: “Pichola Dance was very brave and the form looks quite solid on paper. Her pedigree and run style suggest she will get at least another furlong and we will see what opening mark she gets before making a plan.

"I am thrilled to train a homebred winner for Craig, who is establishing an excellent broodmare band.”
