A couple of low-key niggles have prevented Karisma from racing following her fine reappearance fifth at Goodwood in June, form that has proven above average for the grade with the first two home subsequently placed at Listed level.

Sent off the 15/8 favourite to build on that encouraging run here, Karisma obliged with the minimum of fuss under the in-form Joe Fanning, swooping from the rear of the field rounding the home bend and only needing to be pushed out for a comfortable three and three quarter-length success.

A Lawman half-sister to our talented middle-distance handicapper Central Square, Karisma boasts the pedigree to suggest she can rate a good deal higher than this bare form yet, and we hope she will continue to thrive on the all-weather this winter.

Roger said: “Karisma has always shown plenty of ability and I am delighted she has rewarded the patience afforded to her by Yvonne. This was a modest race on paper, but she won very easily, and it will be interesting to see how high she can go.”
