ISLAND STAR shone bright at Kempton Park Racecourse this evening, getting the better of race-favourite Jeff Koons to shed his maiden tag at only the third time of asking and on his Varian Stable debut.

The three-year-old son of New Approach showed promise on his only two starts last autumn for Marcus Tregoning, and it was a pleasure to see him build on that promise today - we look forward to the rest of the season!
