The son of Giant's Causeway has always been well regarded at home and it was great to see him win this seven-furlong handicap convincingly.

Despite being drawn wide, jockey William Buick was able to get across and settle Horsted Keynes on the girth of the leader, Invisible Hunter.

He travelled strongly before cruising up to challenge for the lead on the bend. He still showed signs of greeness in front but victory was never in doubt and he won readily by a length and a quarter.

Roger said: "We have always thought a lot of him but he has had a few issues which have kept him off the track. I am pleased that his owner's patience has been rewarded and hopefully there is plenty more to come."

Horsted Keynes points his toe on the grass earlier this year.
