The daughter of Mr Greeley ran twice last year, finishing second on the latter occasion at Lingfield last November.

She has been slow to come to hand this season but her recent work suggested that she was ready to run.

Hekaayaat was a bit fresh in the early stages but jockey Dane O'Neill soon had her settled. Despite there being only five runners, the field were spread right across the track with Dane opting to come up to the near side rail.

Hekaayaat ran on well to take over the running at the furlong pole before holding off all challengers to win by a neck.

Roger said: "She is a good looking, well bred filly so it is great to win with her. She looks as though she may get further in time and hopefully she can go on from this."
