GREATGADIAN showed his class when stepping down in grade today at Newcastle, bouncing back to winning ways with an exciting head-to-head finish with Highclere Racing's Pastiche. Slowly away, the five year old son of raced at the rear of the field through the opening stages of the 1m Class 4 contest. 1f from home, Jack Mitchell switched him towards the rail and he sailed up the inner to chase Pastiche to the head of the field. The pair drew clear within final 50 yards, but it was GREATGADIAN who got up in the shadow of the post to claim victory.
