An impressive run by GEORGE BANCROFT, who made it look easy from the front, cruising to victory in the Finley’s Dream Handicap at Chepstow.

A notably marked improvement today from George Bancroft’s previous run at Salisbury earlier in June. The son of Australia got away from the gates well in the hands of Eoin Walsh, pressing on in the early strides and coming through to take it up. Continuing to run on clear of the rest of the field with Sisterandbrother, from the Mick Channon yard, tracking three lengths behind in second. Maintaining a strong gallop throughout George Bancroft made virtually all, only being pressured in the home straight. Polarized the short priced favourite, attempted to make a move but was going nowhere fast. Sisterandbrother put in a good challenge but George Bancroft stayed on and was always doing enough to land the spoils, having gone pillar to post in an impressive fashion.

Congratulations to the Gredley family and connections. A smart performance from the well bred son of Australia who, 2lbs lighter on this occasion, bounced back in no uncertain manner from his run at Salisbury. He will have no doubt benefitted from the run and we look forward to his next appearance on the track this season.
