Amo Racing’s impressive season continued to produce the desired results on the track with a smart performance from OH GREAT in the EBC Group Nursery Handicap at Wolverhampton.

A move up in trip has proved a good choice for the Ribchester colt, who ran well on his nursey debut this afternoon. Partnered with David Egan they broke well from stall one, settling in prime position behind the early leaders of Vaxholm and San Francisco Bay. Turning into the home straight Egan pushed for home, closing the gap on the leading pair. Running well inside the final furlong Oh Great moved into second, challenging the Charlie Fellowes trained San Francisco Bay who drifted into Oh Great’s line inside the last. A tight battle in the closing stages saw Oh Great beaten by only a head, which is why he was inevitably awarded the race.

Congratulations to Amo Racing and connections, the son of Ribchester justified favouritism today, demonstrating he is suited to this longer trip. We look forward to seeing what more the colt can show at this distance.
