Ziad A Galadari's three-year-old filly Invitational produced a career best effort to take the Listed Prix Ceres at Fontainbleau under local jockey Stephane Pasquier.

Having shown plenty of promise in winning two novices on the all weather at the start of the year, the daughter of Poet's Voice had a quiet mid-season before showing her capabilities when a very good second over 6f in a Listed race at Newmarket last month.

She built on that much-improved run back up to 7f here, getting away well from the widest draw of all and obtaining as good a position as could have been hoped for in the circumstances, tracking the front pair on the outer under Pasquier. She could be spotted travelling kindly as the 15 runners entered the straight and stuck her head down in the testing conditions to get up by a neck in the shadow of the post. With 7f appearing to be her optimum, and having shown form on an AW surface, All Weather Finals day at Lingfield is a possible longer-term option for a still lightly-raced filly.

Congratulations to her owner Mr Galadari, who also has the consistent Emirates Knight scheduled to run in the Middle Distance Final at Kempton next Tuesday, and Mountain Angel lined up for the £500,000 Bahrain International Trophy on Friday week.
