Fantastic Fox lives up to his name in the Follow @MansionBet Maiden Stakes at Hamilton today.

Fantastic Fox breaks his maiden at the third time of asking after two successive third placings in his previous runs. The 1 mile 1/2F trip proved favourable for the Frankel colt, who justified favouritism and put in a smart performance under Eoin Walsh. Having broken from stall 3 Walsh had him poised in behind the Kevin Ryan trained Poet’s King, whom he tracked for the majority of the course and distance. Leading up to the third furlong marker Fantastic Fox drew alongside Poet’s King along the outside. Walsh asked for more in the closing stages and Fantastic Fox showed a powerful turn of foot, quickening up and going clear with a 5 to 6L advantage. Fantastic Fox was pushed out at 300yds and ran on easily to the line to take the win by a clear 7 ½ L to second placed Noble Crusade from the Keith Dalgleish team.

Congratulations to King Power Racing and connections. A novice event with a penalty will be well within Fantastic Fox’s abilities and we look forward to seeing what this well-bred Frankel colt can do as he steps up in trip to handicap company.
