The son of Dubai Destination suffered a set back following his third in the Italian 2000 Guineas in April but he had previously shown he was high-class, finishing third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf a year ago.

He was drawn in the widest stall of all but jockey Andrea Atzeni was able to get across and adopt a position on the heels of the leaders.

The leaders went hard up front before folding and leaving Farraaj in front on turning for home.

He was challenged on both sides but was always holding his rivals and stuck on to see out the trip well, winning by a length.

Roger said: "It was a good team effort to get him back from his setback as he had to have plenty of time off without a rider on.

"He has relaxed well and seen out the mile and a quarter. We may keep him ticking over during the winter and target the Winter Derby back here in March."
