Eton Forever, winner of the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, gained a first Listed win in the Guisborough Stakes.

The son of Oratorio was settled in the midfield by Neil Callan before challenging for the lead with a furlong to run.

He soon got the better of the pacesetter, Firebeam, and galloped strongly to the line to win by two and a quarter lengths.

Roger said: "Eton Forever has been a real star for us. He goes well fresh and is versatile regarding ground. He has proved his ability in big handicaps and it is great that he has now won a Listed race."

Bit Of A Gift opened his account at the second time of asking in the 7f maiden. Saeed Suhail's son of Dark Angel stepped up on his Newbury debut to win convincingly by a length and a quarter.

Roger added: "He has done it nicely. He was green on debut and like many Dark Angels he has beniffited from softer ground."
