Dublin Pharaoh got off the mark at the third time of asking at Lingfield on Saturday. He had performed well on two previous starts at Chelmsford and Newcastle finishing fourth and third respectively and put that experience to good use to win in the style of an exciting prospect.

He was ridden away from the stalls by Andrea Atzeni to get a position in behind the leaders and travelled strongly through the contest. On turning in he had at least three lengths to make up, but once he got rolling in the straight he made use of his lengthy stride to run down the leader Behind The Wall and win by a length and a half going away at the line.

From the first crop of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, Dublin Pharaoh, was a $375,000 purchase at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
