It was a 1-2 for Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum as DOUX ESPRIT got up to win by a neck Southwell, after a hard fought battle up the home straight with the Karl Burke-trained PRINTEMPS.

Travelling comfortably and in touch with the leaders throughout, Jack Mitchel waited until the final quarter of a mile to launch his challenge. DOUX ESPRIT responded well, finding his stride 1f from home to challenge PRINTEMPS for the lead, just getting up in the final strides with the pair drawing well clear of the field.

This was a first success for the Invincible Spirit three-year-old who has been knocking on the door, being placed in his four previous runs. He has been gelded since his last run. Congratulations to owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum.
