Owned by Mr J Shack & Mr G Bernard, Dealer’s Choice was winning for the second time this season having broken her maiden on the turf track here in June, but she had to work harder than the eight-length margin of success on that occasion having been drawn wide in an open and competitive contest today.

However, a distinct lack of early pace allowed Andrea to grasp the nettle and slot forward and in, finding himself in the box seat after two furlongs having obtained a pitch tracking the leaders on the rail.

The tempo naturally quickened coming down the hill and Dealer’s Choice was able to find her stride nicely, making the most of a split up the inside rail to lead inside the final furlong and fend off the challenges of Dashing Poet and Lady In Question.

A daughter of Exchange Rate from an excellent US family that includes Group 1 winner Half A Year, Dealer’s Choice holds an entry in the upcoming October Horses In Training Sale at Tattersalls.
