There were many chances of success for all The Racing League teams in the William Hill Free Or Four Racing League R21 (Handicap), but it was DARK LION who got on top when it mattered to score for team TalkSPORT.

The 68-day break seemed to have agreed with Dark Lion who flew home to land the spoils at Windsor today. There was stiff competition amongst a good quality field, but piloted under the in-form Jack Mitchell, the pair navigated their way through from near last to first in the crucial moment. The initial stages of the race saw Dark Lion settle in mid to rear of the field, dropping to last five furlongs out. In what developed into a dash up the straight, Mitchell did well to find an opening along the inside rail and took the opportunity with both hands and heels, Dark Lion responded well and powered through to challenge late. A high-octane finish unfolded but it was Dark Lion who finished the strongest, he had done enough in the nick of time, getting on top at the line and denying the hot favourite Air To Air from the George Boughey yard by only a neck.

Congratulations to winning owners Fawzi Nass, HH Shaikh Nasser Al Khalifa and connections. It was a thrilling performance and good to see the son of Dark Angel back to winning ways. The result moves team TalkSPORT to third position after round four in The Racing League.
