The smart colt JAZZ CLUB ran to the tune of a champion at Windsor this afternoon, showing a striking turn of foot to break his maiden at only the third time of asking.

JAZZ CLUB made full use of his experience from his two previous starts, breaking strongly from stall five under Andrea Atzeni and taking on an early lead. Making all over the course and distance, the only challenger was Rose Barton under David Probert, who stayed on well in an attempt to make a bid for the lead at the two furlong marker. But Rose Barton was no match for Jazz Club, who accelerated away decisively in the closing stages. Inside the last Jazz Club kept on strongly, drawing clear and comfortably putting the race to bed with plenty left in the tank.

Congratulations to Coolmore and winning connections. This son of Starspangledbanner looks a powerful type with a decent amount of class about him. A promising season lays ahead of this colt, if he continues to progress along this trajectory.
